The Institute offers you the opportunity to journey with luminaries in the humanities and culinary arts. Workshops feature dynamic, interactive instruction on the Institute's magnificent grounds as well as customized excursions to delightful medieval and Renaissance towns.

In addition to daily instruction and the complementing daily excursions into the Tuscan countryside, your registration includes:

Home Cooked Tuscan Cuisine to include breakfasts plus one major meal each day featuring regional specialties and local wine.

Accommodations in Colombaiolo, House of Doves, a majestic, centuries-old farmhouse that has been superbly restored. For Dr. Peggy Jaffe, the Institure director and your host, selecting the home's lovely antiques and furnishings by local artisans was a labor of love, creating a charming and authentic ambience. Colombaiolo offers the warmth of a bed and breakfast with the comfort of a four-star hotel. All rooms are double-occupancy with a private bath (a single supplement is available).

Awe-inspiring views of the Val d'Orcia: The Institute is on a spectacular site overlooking the Val D'Orcia, the prize of this pristine region. It overlooks an idyllic thousand-acre estate of olive groves and rolling wheat fields.

Experiencing Tuscany as a local: As a Californian now living in Pienza, Peggy has the unique ability of recognizing the needs of her American guests while imparting her local's knowledge. Not only is she familiar with the most notable sights, but she also knows the interesting backroads, perfect al fresco spots for an impromptu lesson and the off-the-beaten path eating spots and shops local patronize.

"Excellent, well worth the time and money. I learned a lot. The villa and surroundings are all I expected and more, I loved the excursions. Great having a sampling of local foods." - P. Whittington
